Hi Frustrated...I'm sorry that you were offended by this post. My statement (and actually, this was not "my statement"...it's something I copied from a site I like). It's not a ridiculous idea to think that we can be healed without western medicine...and more people need to start thinking this way. In my opinion, a traditional doctor is more "potentially harmful" than this post or similar ideas. This blog contains own PERSONAL health ideals...that does not mean that everyone must agree with or abide by them. I do believe that most things, even diseases and cancer CAN be cured by food and lifestyle. But, some are not and will require western medicine. There is definitely a time and place for it. I am not completely against western medicine. I do think it is overused. I am sorry that you are going through some health issues right now...I hope you will stick around even though our ideas differ.

I agree that many people need to change their lifestyles and get off their medications, but I feel so isolated by your comments about pharmaceuticals and western medicine. I have a serious health issue that despite very careful lifestyle choices (many that you've listed) I am only able to manage with medication.

It's very easy for some one lucky enough to have their health make such an ignorant statement. I encourage you to revaluate your reasons for posting such a ridiculous and potentially harmful item.

Sara--thanks so much for the continued inspiration.

I'm wondering if you can talk a bit about your own philosophy in regards to when you would personally visit an M.D.? For instance, under what circumstance might you consider visiting one? Also, do you believe there is ever any need for a prescription med, such as antibiotics?

Am I allowed to say 'crap'? I thought I was doing good to switch to organic poptarts. I am in bad shape. Less bad shape than a few days ago, before I started reading Plenty (100 Mile Diet). But bad shape no less. Thanks for keeping the wheels turning!
