Tip: I rub coconut oil on my hands and then roll them into balls~It resolves the stickiness. (I also love to add in spirulina, stir in soaked goji berries, and roll the finished products in ground walnuts~YUM!)

So, Ry and I just made these with dates, peanut butter and cocoa...not raw but what we had on hand this time around. Results = YUM! Can't wait to try it again with the raw ingredients but we're not complaining in the mean time. :)

Just saw your recipe in the 'related posts' section. It looks amazingly simple. I'll swap you! Here's one I just tried for raw cacao fudge balls: http://northatlanticbooks.wordpress.com/2008/11/05/chocolate-in-the-raw/

The cocoa butter, which is hard at room temp, keeps them from getting too sticky once they've set.

Couldn't you use raw cacao powder? Then it would still be raw. I know some people don't like carob. I actually like both. :)

These look so incredibly yummy, Sara! We love protein-packed bites like these around here.

One of our favorite snacks, Flax Balls (or Peanut Butter Bites for the picky!), whip up quickly and are great pop-em-in-your-mouth snacks for between lessons or an afternoon pick-me-up.

I posted the recipe <a href="http://mamahooper.blogspot.com/2008/01/our-favorite-snack.html" rel="nofollow">here</a>
on my blog- I'm going to try your fudge balls next week after the grocery shopping! :) Thanks!

Kristin...they are VERY sticky. I usually roll them and then throw them into the fridge or even the freezer to harden them. Leaving them out of the fridge will make them "melt" because of the almond butter. Sorry about your motor! :) Hope the chocolately goodness was worth it!
