I love eating raw food. I’m not 100% raw, but darn close to it during the warm weather months.

I have to say, though, that you must be referring to type II diabetes? I’ve had type I for more than 25 years and my 17-year-old daughter has had it for 15 years. Our pancreas are completely non-functional. There is no way to regain that other than a pancreas transplant (or, maybe eventually, one of the methods that they are experimenting with, such as islet cell transplants.)

That aside, raw eating will definitely decrease the amount of insulin that one has to take, whether they have type I or type II.

Jodi…they have actually had great success healing Type I as well. If not healing, at least they dropped their insulin needs by A LOT. You would definitely like watching the doc…check it out! They are doing groundbreaking work with diabetes.

Words to Eat By

"It is easier to change a man's religion than to change his diet." -Margaret Mead

"I don't understand why asking people to eat a well-balanced vegetarian diet is considered drastic, while it is medically conservative to cut people open and put them on cholesterol lowering drugs for the rest of their lives." - Dean Ornish, MD

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
