The Not Green Smoothie

I saw this idea somewhere on line, and I had to try it out. It seemed way too simple! I peeled 3 juicy oranges, added 3-4 ice cubes, threw them in the blender and blended (it said not to add water, but I didn’t think it would work so I added a little). It was delicious! I actually think it would have been perfect without the water…the juice from the oranges would be enough. Matt, Bella, and I shared this glass.I did a green version of this for Matt this morning…
2 frozen bananas
1 orange, peeled
Handful of spinach
2 cups water
It was soooo good. Like a tropical dream.

LOL, sub soy milk for the water in your green version, and you’ve got my standard morning smoothie. Goodness, but I’m boring.
And how did you fit 304 ice cubes in your blender?? I’m impressed. π

I’m thinking you meant 3-4 ice cubes…right?
I like this better than juicing because you get the whole fruit including the fiber…and it is more filling, saving money too in the long run I’d think.

I tried the green version with my family today, since we got a new blender. So good! Even my oldest son, who’s not quite “on board” with all the changes we’ve made the past few years, said it wasn’t bad. π

This is how they make “orange juice” in India. I have a glass every chance I get here, since it’s so unbelievably yummy! So much better than the stuff that comes from a carton.
